SCHOOLS- WORK WITH CHILDREN

Below is a sample of some of the work I have done in schools. I usually work with Y4-6 but I have done some work where I have taught every child in the school- usually as part of an arts week. Projects are planned with the school to fit in with their curriculum. Usually the school has an idea for an end display or a theme which they are working on at the time.

Tissue Paper & Willow

Tissue paper and willow can lend itself to so many projects.
Initially lanterns are always great and often fit into festivals and Winter themes.

Shown here are butterflies and dragonflies done as individual work and as paired work- again the groupings can be done to suit individual class needs.

Willow Weaving- Individual Work

Shown here is a mix of individual, group and whole class work. The spiders were made individually, the webs made in small groups and then the display was done by the whole class.

A high level of emphasis on working together, designing, listening to other people's ideas evaluation and testing ideas/designs.

All sessions are backed up with NC linked paperwork and ideas for extension activities for use in the future.

Designed specifically to encourage working together in small groups.

Shown here is the start of a class 5 mermaid which was a framework for a multi media peice which the class then finished on their own.
 
A lock ness monster where the framework was made by parents and support staff and then woven in by all classes.
